E-Books Major Crimes While this is the fourth book in the series, it was easy for me to jump in. Had no trouble following events and this could easily be read as a stand alone. Falsely accused of a crime, Detective Bryce Kelly turns to the only one he can trust, Chelsey Alton. Her connections as a P.I. could be useful, or so he tells himself when his visit has them both on the run from the law. There could be an ulterior motive as the sparks ignite between them. Now the heat is on, in more ways than one, to keep one step ahead of jail and one step closer to finding the real killer.Chelsey is a hoot. She’s very impulsive, and acts without thinking things through. I began to believe her doubts about private investigating being her thing. She made some mistakes with humorous outcomes.Bryce put her in a bad position when he sought her out for help. Once the panic subsided and they came to their senses, things got sorted out and they started working the case. The chemistry between these two was strong. It was fun to read their thoughts about each other. Especially when they should have been concentrating on more important things. Things like finding the murderer and staying off the most wanted list.Told from his and her points of view, their individual voices weren’t all that different, and I sometimes had to read more to clarify which character was which. After a bit, I began to recognize them and the story got stronger and more rounded. The mystery was good. I couldn’t make heads or tails on who the real culprit was. And the numerous secondary characters provided plenty of suspects and made the story more colorful. There are a couple that almost stole the show. This is a gritty cozy mystery with some romance and lots of laughs, and that’s always a good thing. There were some scenes where I burst out laughing. Like the time Chelsey hid in the trunk of a car, or the time…well, darn it, can’t tell you everything.I’m glad I was able to enjoy this without having read the other books first, but I had such fun I’m going to go back and start at the beginning.I received this book for my honest review.. 3. Book Four in the Jersey Shore series is a cozy mystery perfect for newcomers to the mystery series as well as prior fans, and it opens with a heart stopping scenario that portends danger from its first moment the protagonist returns home to find her front door unlocked and she s always meticulous about locking it, even though she owns little of value. She searches her house instead of fleeing or phoning the police and finds a surprise It s an unannounced visit, and one that affects Chelsey s good [...]

  6. A really enjoyable murder mystery Chelsey, a private investigator in training, and Bryce, detective and murder suspect, tell the tale We switch back and forth between them as the story progresses Great Italian family interaction adds to the humor, food intake and clues To be honest, the cover and title would not have made me pick up this book The author provided a copy for me to beta read I am so happy she did As soon as I finished this book, I purchased the previous ones available by Michele Ly [...]

  9. Major Crimes by Michelle Lynn Seigfried was a fun read The main characters were perky and interesting, and had enough depth to be well thought out without them being too weighed down It s a Cozy Mystery novel, and that s a great description for it This is the type of book you read in your free time on the beach, or in bed on a rainy day It s a fun way to pass the time.I admit that I was nervous when I learned that Major Crimes was actually the fourth book in a series Normally I don t like to rev [...]

  10. When I agreed to review Major Crimes I didn t realize that it was the 4th book in a series I was so afraid that when I started that I wouldn t know what was going on Michele does a great job of keeping the story flowing from one book to the next while still allowing readers to come in at any point of the story As a matter of fact she does such a great job that I want to go back and read the books in the Jersey Shore Mystery Series not because I feel like I need to in order to read Major Crimes b [...]

  11. I am a fan of mysteries that are solved by the person wrongly accused of the crime In Major Crimes the person who is wrongly accused is a hunky detective Sounds like great fun Major Crimes is a quick, light read You can easily finish this one on a Sunday afternoon curled up on the sofa I did find the writing a bit repetitive Seigfried often shows the reader a point and then, in case you missed it, tells us as well And personally I thought there were too many details The blow by blow explanation [...]
