  2. This is an average mystery where every character is a trope And seriously it gets old, fast Rosemary is a chemist raised by Hippies who owned a resort then got overwhelmed by debt and abandoned the resort to their 3 daughters Rosemary, Sage Thyme Rosemary is the eldest Now I hate to be all timey wimey but the book is set in modern time so if their parents are hippies I would guess that the gals, this book is about Rosemary, are in their late 30 s, early 40 s But no they are mid to early 20 sand [...]

  3. Got this in free promo so I m not sore Ms.Miller shouldn t be, either, because I ve only read two sentences.Let me tell you, this is the first time that I m compelled to write a review after reading and stopping at two sentences I was up to my elbows in pomegranate seeds when Flix, my client s impossibly hot stepson, strolled into the kitchen and flashed me a toothpaste commercial white grin The way this book was promoted, I thought it was cosy mystery But now I already have bad feelings about i [...]

  4. Possibly one of the best romantic suspense books I have read in a while Manages to combine what I consider the best of cozy mystery and romantic suspense a spunky heroine, a hero who has some depth, just enough romance to keep things spicy without making me read steamy sex scenes, a good mystery to unravel and a supporting cast that helps the story feel real Well done

  5. Melissa F Miller s new three book Mystery Cozy I chose the five star rating because it was excellent The story line, originality, and great reading Can t wait to read other two.

  6. Strong start with an incredibly short list of characters Knees like jelly Never been kissed like this before Please don t annoy me with bottled thoughtless brainless passion Overdose of corn.

  7. AudioBook Review Stars Overall 3 Narration 2 Story 3 So a private holistic chef working for a vegan Hollywood actress, an allergic reaction, a handsy step son and plenty of suspects highlight this story And from the blurb, I was instantly intrigued being a fan of Dianne Mott Davidson s titles foodie heavy cozies that always is worth a re read or listen for me So my hopes for this title were instantly mitigated within the first few sentences clich d descriptions and characters that just had me h [...]

  8. Fun readI enjoyed reading this easy, breezy mystery Well written, interesting characters and a quick read I look forward to reading about Rosemary and her sisters The chef angle was believable without being corny Once I finished rolling my eyes over the sister s names I was able to briskly move on and settle in for a nice read.

  9. A pretty good start to a new series I liked Rosemary and her two sisters, Thyme and Sage I m not too sure that I care much for Felix I did figure out the murderer early on, but wanted to read about Rosemary I d still like to read to see how Rosemary s new catering business goes.

  10. Very fast pleasant read Rosemary is a personal chef to spoiled actress Amber When Amber dies police suspect Rosemary Liked the book although I did not understand why the police would supect Rosemary motive and some things never added up OK read.

  11. Excellent readSuspenseful to the very end Also quite witty and amusing I would recommend this book and author to others that enjoy reading as much as I do Can t wait to read the Sage and Thyme books as well as her other series.

  12. Rosemary s Gravy Add me to those reviewers who didn t understand how a chemist could become a chef to the stars without benefit of a very long and complicated r sum , given the extreme dietary restrictions of the actress involved I guess chemists aren t paid that well Rosemary Field, the protagonist, has two sisters named Sage and Thyme, so given that information you can generally expect some tongue in cheek humor Not expected was the hyper drive hormones, romantic complications, and somewhat sn [...]

  13. Characters actions are inconsistent with their presumed feelings They don t just run hot and cold, they are poorly written For example after falling for the guy, Rosemary makes a flippant comment to herself in response to his hurt feelings I remembered rich people have feelings too She was involved with this guy and that s all we get Detective Drummond might be the worst A constant source of surprise He likes her one moment Then he s fed up with her attitude Then demonstrates patients again All [...]

  14. Fast paced light mystery Rosemary is a former chemist, forced to take a job as a holistic chef for a famous actress for financial reasons After one of Rosemary s dinners, the actress turns up dead due to food poisoning, and Rosemary becomes a suspect. In an effort to find the truth, Rosemary teams up with the actresses hottie stepson, and things progress from there. The plot unravels at a good pace, there isn t anything overly complicated or any huge twists I guessed the culprit pretty early wasn [...]

  15. Not going to lie, I picked this book up because the play on words in the title amused me I m a sucker for a witty play on words, guys A sucker. That said, generally speaking I m REALLY bad about figuring out who the bad guy is in mysteries I second guess myself so hard I end up totally shocked when the big reveal comes Exceptis time I nailed it Which might have been just a stroke of luck a broken clock is right twice a day, RIGHT or the bad guy might have been obvious I really don t know.I do kno [...]

  16. Cozy murder mysteries used to be all about nosy old ladies solving murders in sleepy English villages how things have changed Rosemary s Gravy , the first in the We Sisters series, is nothing like that Set in the Hollywood hills, it features a young main character, Rosemary, who is in her mid twenties not quite Miss Marple material Rosemary, a chef to Amber, a famous Hollywood actress, finds herself wrongly accused of murder when her boss is found dead after a dinner party Who did it I ll stop h [...]

  17. I m pretty sure I read this last year but didn t review it then I don t remember it setting my world on fire.I do like stories about chefs I also like cozy mysteries Every other cozy these days seems to have the MC opening a bakery or a cupcake business or something along those lines I liked the fact that this MC was into so much than just the sweet stuff I both liked and disliked the way her profession was used to implicate the MC This seemed simultaneously farfectched but also so obvious I co [...]

  18. A good little read but it was very obvious who the killer was why doesn t anyone ever know for AGES Well written and with some good characters although the way the author went into extreme detail about some characters especially about the love interests and many others barely got a mention in passing, despite being key to the story was quite disappointing and annoying , it made for a good way to pass an hour or so I d like to read a prequel to the series where we find out about Rosemary s famil [...]

  19. This is first in the We Sisters Three series, and is about the oldest sister, Rosemary the other two are Sage and Thyme who has given up her job as a chemist to become a personal chef to a movie star and her family in order to help pay off the debts left by the three sisters parents So, not terribly realistic, but entertaining As often happens in this sort of story she is the first suspect when the actress is murdered And of course there are a couple of good looking men in the wings including th [...]

  20. Loved itpoison in a book lolRosemary was hired to be chef for the rich music producer and his wife, who everyone hates Rosemary made the meal for a dinner party and Amber, the wife died They blamed it at first on rosemary because Amber was allergic to just and the gravy for the party was supposed to have them but Rosemary left them out. Then Amber stepson started dating Rosemary Detective Drummond thinks rosemary didn t do it and gets to find out who did Anyway there are twists and suspects This [...]

  21. Make that 3 1 2 stars Maybe 3 3 4 stars almost 4 stars, anyway Rosemary is the private cook for an extremely picky, allergic, and wealthy celebrity Sorta nasty, too, so it s no surprise she s murdered But, by Rosemary s gravy Since it is a sisters series, there s sisters involved, but they are at a distance, and will each have a book of her own As for Rosemary, she is also involved attracted, anyway with a man or two or a very young man So, who to trust Who might be setting Rosemary up for the f [...]

  22. This book was a free download from Bookbub I chose it because of the title not often is a main character named Rosemary The mystery is ok but the background story Rosemary has sisters named Sage and Thyme what a shame there wasn t a 4th sibling named Parsley is a bit hokey and the intertwined love story is corny and full of clich s Apparently there are other books in the series, but I have no desire to read them.

  23. I really wanted to like this book In fact, I didn t dislike it It was just too much fluff I didn t find the characters to be well developed I didn t really care about them in the least And it certainly wasn t a gripping, edge of the seat mystery Maybe if one was at the beach watching the waves and occasionally looking down at one s book this would be a better read But there s so many good mysteries out there why waste your time

  24. Ehhhh What can I say Under average No depth to the chatacters, weird twists in the plot and to top things off a homocide detective who helps the suspect of the homocide because he fancies her at first sight You might want to read it to form your own opinion, but there are a lot of books out there that are far entertaining than this one

  25. A great book butr me, it was a bit too long I love the sisters and their wonderful names Rosemary Sage and Thyme and hope there is a book 2 but this storyline just seemed too long I was hoping it would just end and the guilty one named It just lacked that special something needed to bring it altogether.

  26. When the client of a personal chef dies from anaphylactic shock due to a nut allergy the chef is the chief suspect in her death But she swears she didn t add any nuts as she was aware of her client s allergy When the victim s husband is charged our chef feels vindicated Working with the detective in charge she is able to identify the real culprit.

  27. This was a very entertaining romantic mystery This was the first book I read by this author I liked the writing style very much The story flows very well and I was interested the entire time Real life characters also added to the enjoyment.
