Seth Vikram : Suitable Boy Comment

  1. Seth s powerful narrative tells the story of variously related families in the nascent independent India His grip on the story never wavers despite a cast of tens of characters Seth tackles so many subjects and with such authority that you wonder how one author can command expertise in everything from shoe making to emergency surgery One of the great Indian books.

  2. Parts of book interesting but very long winded I ve read much better writers who give better descriptions of country and period.

  3. Book in very good condition arrived promptly so that I could start this very thick read exactly when I wanted.

  4. An amazing novel I feel like I ve actually been to India, and I ve learned so much about this country s history.Characters are so flawed they feel real I could smell the flowers and feel the burn of the sun on my skin The best read I ve had this year

  7. Though it s a big book, and is very hard to start once you are involved with the Mehras and their relatives, you cannot live without them When you finish the novel, you still want to go on and know about what s happening with them This novel features all the aspects of India history, religion, family, rituals, education, politics it s a complete guide to India in a very unformal way Must read it Enjoy your reading
